DESE Directory Administration Overview

This presentation will provide an overview of Directory Administration (DA), which is the application that serves as the official directory of all of Massachusetts districts, schools, programs and more. It is also the application that governs the permissions and access that users across the state have within the MassEdu Gateway (i.e. Security Portal). We will go over things like different organization relationships and how they are established, how security roles and functions work, and how some of the characteristics set in DA inform what is shown to the public on Profiles. We will also go over the process of how school districts go about making official changes in Directory Administration when things are changing in their district (such as school openings/closings, grade configuration changes, name changes etc).
