Building Equitable EdTech Systems in Massachusetts

In this presentation, members of DESE's Office of Educational Technology will provide an overview of the Department's goals and priorities for edtech, as well as updates on projects related to each. The team will highlight the development of a Systems Guide, that will provide resources for schools and districts in the equitable selection, implementation, and evaluation of edtech.

About
Andréa Coté is the Assistant Director of Educational Technology at the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She began her career as an elementary school teacher but quickly fell in love with everything edtech. She has since received her Master’s in Educational Media and Technology, received her National CETL certification, and proudly served in Massachusetts schools as an Integration Specialist and tech admin for 15 years. She has currently been at DESE for 10 years and dedicates herself to DESE's efforts in supporting the edtech leaders in the Commonwealth.

Jackie Gantzer

Director of Educational Technology Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
About
Jackie Gantzer is the Director of Educational Technology and School Support at the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She began her career as a middle school ELA teacher and has since served as a school administrator, nonprofit program director, and policy leader in both city and state government. She currently leads DESE's efforts in developing policy and support systems for edtech leaders in the Commonwealth.
